Brien Daniel

Brien Daniel heads up Yachting Directions, with a lifetime of sailing experience up his sleeve and well over 4 decades as a professional in the leisure-boat industry. Brien is based in Sydney and Newcastle, Australia.

Expertise, Experience & Diversity

Brien Daniel has well over four decades involvement in the marine and construction industry including in:

  • Marina operations and development.

  • Charter fleet ownership, management and operation

  • Project management of yacht construction from design, development to sales. 

  • Superyacht regatta marketing and sales.

  • Superyacht guardianage & private client mentoring

  • Certified RYA Yachtmaster instructor, training over 6,000 clients and students in the Mediterranean
    and Australia.​

  • Created a business plan for a new marina development in the Whitsundays covering location, regulations, costs, market analysis and income generating activities for profitability.​

  • Established a sales agency for Archambault Yachts 

  • Created a business strategy for an annual super yacht regatta for Porto Montenegro, plus established a RYA Training Centre and yacht management business in Montenegro.

  • Wrote the “Montenegro Yachting Guide” for Montenegro Tourism Authority (now defunct).

  • Established “Yachting World” as the key yacht charter company in The Whitsundays and Vanuatu in the 1980's, by increasing profitability through diversifying the company into yacht sales, construction and design; delivering strong sales results in US and Europe working closely with Tourism Australia, Qantas and TAA. ​

  • Responsible for the design, prototype, tooling and production of one of the most successful charter yachts in Australia, the Lexcen 40.​ 12 of these vessels were built and they are still a favourite in the chartering and cruising scene.
